Waitlark for Mobile apps

Line up testers before the app is out.

Before your app is in the App Store or on Google Play, a waitlist is where people can say they want it. Ask which phone they use, then let testers in a batch at a time.

Where it gets hard

iPhone or Android?

A list of email addresses doesn’t say who can install which build. Send the iOS beta to everyone and some invites land with people who can’t use it.

Testers in small groups

The first build needs a few dozen people who’ll report bugs, the next one a few hundred. Tracking who got which invite in a spreadsheet gets messy fast.

More than one language

An app often launches in several countries on the same day. A waitlist form that speaks one language leaves everyone else guessing.

How it goes with Waitlark

  1. Ask which phone they use

Add a single-choice question, iPhone or Android, at signup or in the welcome flow right after. Each question gets its own breakdown in the dashboard, and you can filter the list on the answer.

  2. One list, every language you need

Form, questions, emails and thank-you pages per language. The form can follow the visitor’s browser, and the language is stored with each signup, so every later email and invite arrives in it.

    Every language →
  3. Let early fans move up

Every signup gets a share link. Each friend who confirms moves them up the line, and a story-sized share card in your brand is ready for Instagram and WhatsApp.

    Referrals →
  4. Invite testers in batches

Pick everyone who answered iPhone, or the next 50 in line. Each invite carries a personal link or access code that works once and expires, and you see who opened it and who activated.

  5. Tell the list it’s out

Short updates to everyone or a segment, from your own address and in your brand, are planned for after Waitlark opens. Until then, export a CSV of everyone who confirmed and send the news from your email tool.

For example

Say you’re launching a habit-tracking app in English and Dutch. The hosted page counts down to release day, and the welcome flow asks iPhone or Android. Three weeks out, you invite everyone who answered iPhone to the TestFlight beta. The Android testers follow a week later. People who signed up in Dutch see the form and every email in Dutch.

Waitlark for Mobile apps: common questions

Does Waitlark connect to TestFlight or Google Play?
No. Waitlark picks the batch and sends the invite email, from your own address and in your brand, with a link or access code that works once. Inviting someone also fires a signed webhook, so your backend knows who’s coming.
Can I invite iPhone users first?
Yes. Ask which phone people use, then invite everyone who gave that answer as one batch. Android users stay on the list for a later batch.
Can the waitlist run in more than one language?
Yes. The form, questions and emails come per language, and each person gets every later email in the language they signed up in. Add a language and you get a draft translation to check before it goes live.
